STANFORD, Calif. — Following another successful season with an NCAA Regional appearance, Stanford men’s golf earns its first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) postseason honor with Nathan Wang being named to the All-ACC Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
In his first season on The Farm, Wang led the program with a 70.97 scoring average through 30 competitive rounds. Wang earned four top-20 finishes during the season and earned a season-best finish in Stanford’s final regular season tournament, placing tied for fifth with a 5-under 205 at the Western Intercollegiate.
Having transferred to Stanford after two years at Cal, Wang registered a win via a 3 & 2 fashion over the Golden Bears in the annual Big Match in Woodside, Calif. in the early portion of the season. Wang was clinical at the end of the campaign for the Cardinal, placing in the top 30 in each of his final six tournaments including a T-17 performance in Stanford's debut at the ACC Championships in late April. Wang finished the campaign with a team-best 16 rounds at par or better while registering six rounds in the 60’s as Stanford reached the regional round of the NCAA tournament for the 26th-consecutive season.
