STANFORD, Calif. -- The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced multiple honors Friday, recognizing five Stanford rowers as CRCA First-Team All-Americans and naming Farwell Director of Women’s Rowing Derek Byrnes the Region 3 Coach of the Year. Additionally, Alben Family Associate Head Coach Molly Hamrick and assistant coaches Antonella Kugler, Molly Milligan, and Maegan Neihart were named Region 3 Staff of the Year.
Luise Bachmann, Matilda Drewett, Célia Dupré, Iris Klok, and Honor Warburg each earned first-team All-America honors. It marks the fourth time in program history Stanford has placed five rowers on the first team.
Bachmann became a three-time All-American, joining an elite group of just eight Cardinal rowers to achieve the honor three or more times. Klok and Dupré earned their second career selections, while Drewett and Warburg were honored for the first time.
All five rowed in Stanford’s varsity eight, which finished as the national runner-up and was named the ACC Crew of the Year following its dominant record-setting performance at the conference championship.
The Cardinal capped the 2025 season by winning its third NCAA team title, powered by Grand Final victories in the second varsity eight and varsity four. Stanford also claimed its fourth straight conference team title and its first as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, sweeping all races at the championship regatta for the first time since 2021.
To meet the criteria for an All-America selection, a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution while having rowed in at least 75 percent of the season's races in the varsity eight boat. Boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements, and 2,000-meter erg scores are also considered.
The CRCA Coach and Staff of the Year Awards honor the exceptional leaders behind the success of collegiate rowing programs across all NCAA divisions and the lightweight category. These awards recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, competitive achievement, and a deep commitment to the student-athletes and teams they guide.
