Cardinals Select Haskins on Day Two

Trevor Haskins was drafted in the 15th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by St. Louis

STANFORD, Calif.Trevor Haskins was selected in the 15th round (No. 450) of the 2025 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.

Haskins, who was named ACC and NCBWA National Player of the Week on February 24 this year, saved his best season on The Farm for last. The native of San Jose, Calif. earned All-ACC third team honors at third base while starting 51 of Stanford's 52 games and batting .326 with 46 runs scored, 13 doubles, 14 home runs and 42 RBIs. Haskins led the team with 23 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI contests, and hit safely in all but eight of his games played. Doing damage in ACC play, Haskins homered six times, compiled seven doubles and drove in 21 runs while scoring 20 and batting .323 against ACC foes.

A career .294 hitter on The Farm, Haskins compiled 76 runs scored, 29 doubles, a triple and 22 home runs while driving in 79 runs in 127 games played. A two-time Pac-12 team champion, Haskins hit for the cycle and went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBIs against Texas Tech on April 2, 2024. Etching his name in Cardinal lore as a freshman, Haskins contributed a walk-off RBI-single in the bottom of the ninth inning against No. 13 Texas State to complete a 4-3 come-from-behind victory and send Stanford to the super regional round.

With Haskins’ selection, a total of 32 players have been drafted out of Stanford during the David Esquer era, which began with the 2018 season.
