KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Stanford men’s basketball was once again bestowed the National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award while four players earned nods to the Honors Court, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Benny Gealer, Chisom Okpara, Ryan Agarwal and Cole Kastner tallied nods to the NABC Honors Court, which is awarded to players of at least junior standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. The recognition is the first for all four players.
In order to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the previous academic year. Stanford was one of 10 schools in the ACC to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award and one off seven to have at least four honorees on the Honors Court.
In its first season in the ACC, the Cardinal finished the 2024-25 season at 21-14 overall, marking its most total victories since 2014-15 while matching a program record with 17 wins at Maples Pavilion. Stanford went 9-1 at home in the ACC last season.
