STANFORD, Calif. – Sein Myoung, a two-time All-Big West first-team performer at Cal State Fullerton, has transferred to Stanford and will have two years of eligibility remaining, Peter and Helen Bing Director of Women’s Tennis Frankie Brennan announced Wednesday.
“We’re fortunate to be able to welcome a student-athlete of Sein’s quality to our program,” Brennan said. “She is coming off a fantastic sophomore season where she was nearly automatic on the top court over the final two months. We are excited she made the decision that Stanford is the best place for her to finish out her college career and are confident she’ll only get better during her time here on The Farm.”
Myoung played exclusively at No. 1 for the Titans last season, going 15-4 in duals, including a perfect 9-0 in conference action. After dropping her first three matches of the season, all on the road, she reeled off wins in 15 of her last 16, including finishing the year on a 12-match winning streak. In doubles, Myoung went a combined 10-7 in duals and was 9-5 at the No. 1 spot.
As freshman in 2024, Myoung played on the top three courts and went 12-9 in duals. She was 13-9 in doubles and earned a spot on the All-Big West Doubles second team.
Myoung was also a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete at Fullerton and is the second undergraduate transfer for the Cardinal this calendar year. In January, Caroline Driscoll joined the squad and proceeded to go 15-6 in helping Stanford to an NCAA Super Regional appearance. She was 10-2 on the back courts and finished the season with an ITA singles ranking of 94.
