Lightweight Rowing Adds Rickman as Assistant Coach

Rickman was an All-American as a senior at Boston University

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford lightweight rowing has added former CRCA All-American Maecy Rickman as assistant coach, as announced by the program on Friday.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Maecy to the Farm,” said associate head coach Lizzy Houston. “She came highly recommended from coaching peers and has proven her competitive edge as both a lightweight rower and as a coach. We are excited to bring her to the West Coast, and the team and I look forward to working with her”

Rickman joins the Cardinal after spending the previous academic year as an assistant coach at Skidmore College in New York, where she helped the women’s program to a top-three finish in the Liberty League and a program-best finish of eighth place overall in the varsity 8+ at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. She also coached in 2025 with Ready Set Row in Marietta, Ohio.

“I’m excited for the future of the Stanford Lightweights and know that Maecy will be an asset in our pursuit of excellence,” finished Houston.

A former captain of the Terriers’ rowing program, Rickman was a 2024 CRCA All-American at Boston University. She rowed in the stroke seat for the Terriers, leading the team to fourth at the 2024 IRA National Championships. During her career, Rickman helped Boston University earn the Evelyn Bergman Trophy at the Dad Vail Regatta, the gold medal at the Knecht Cup and the silver medal at the 2023 IRA National Championships. She also won bronze in 2022 at IRAs in the varsity four.
