Stanford heads back out on the road for two days at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invtitational presented by Charles Schwab

STANFORD, Calif. — Following a historic Big Match win on Thursday evening, Stanford men’s golf is back on the road, heading to the Lone Star State for a return trip to the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational Presented by Charles Schwab from September 29-30. 

THE COURSE » The storied Colonial Country Club serves as the track for this season’s Invitational showcasing a par-70, 7,289-yard layout that has held PGA Tour tradition since the 1940s. 

Colonial Country Club hosts the tournament for the eighth time in its history and second time since course renovations took place in 2023. With notable stretches such as “The Horrible Horseshoe” (holes 3-5) and the “Unlucky 13,” Colonial Country Club serves as the perfect setting for an early season challenge for some of the nation’s top college programs. 

THE FIELD » This season’s 15-team field boasts 13 teams ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Top 25 heading into the weekend. 

Those partaking in this year’s event include No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 Arizona State, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 8 Virginia, No. 11 Alabama, No. 14 North Carolina, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 18 Georgia Tech, No. 19 Texas Tech, No. 20 Pepperdine, No. 21 Georgia, Stanford and hosts TCU. 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT » The 54-hole tournament will be played under the play five, keep four format over two days. Monday’s 36-hole shotgun start will begin at 8 a.m. CT, while Tuesday's final round tee times are also set for as early as 8 a.m CT.

THE CARDINAL LINEUP » Hitting the links for Stanford includes the same lineup the Cardinal ushered out for the season-opener at Olympia Fields. TK Chantananuwat leads the Cardinal at the No. 1 slot, followed by Jay Leng and Nathan Wang. Edan Cui is in the No. 4 slot for the Cardinal while Dean Greyserman heads out at No. 5 following his walk-off win on Friday. 

STANFORD AT THE BEN HOGAN COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL » Stanford heads back to Colonial having placed in the middle of a loaded, 15-team pack last season. TK Chantananuwat led the way for the Cardinal with a T-19 finish having turned in a 3-over, 213 card. Elsewhere Jay Leng and Ethan Gao both grabbed top-30 finishes, finishing the tournament at 5-over, 215. 

BACK TO BACK AT THE BIG MATCH » In a 19-hole thriller at Menlo Country Club, Stanford retained its Big Match title for the first time, earning a 3.5-3.5 tiebreak winner courtesy of the duo of Megha Ganne and Dean Greyserman. With both golfers earning great approach shots on the playoff 18th hole, Ganne secured the tiebreaker with a roughly 50 foot putt to give the Cardinal the win. Ganne and Greyserman secured a 3&2 win for Stanford while the Cardinal also earned points with 4&3 decisions from Edan Cui/Leigh Chien and Nathan Wang/Andrea Revuelta.

ALL-ACC NATHAN » In his first season on The Farm, Nathan Wang had a stellar season culminating in the Cardinal’s first-ever ACC accolade with the junior being named to the All-ACC Team. Wang earned four top-20 finishes during the season and led the Cardinal with a 70.97 scoring average in 30 competitive rounds. Placing T-17 at Stanford’s debut in the ACC Championships, Wang earned his best finish of the season at the Western Collegiate placing T-5 at 5-under, 205, while also aiding the Cardinal to postseason golf for the 26th-consecutive season. 

FIRST YEAR SUCCESS » In their first season on The Farm, TK Chantananuwat and Jay Leng has tremendous success for the Cardinal. Chantananuwat finished the season with five top-20 finishes including a season-best eighth-place finish at The Western Intercollegiate as the Cardinal took runners-up at its annual appearance at Pasatiempo. Leng also had a respectable freshman year, earning four top-20 finishes with his best outing being a T-12 finish at The Goodwin. Both players were two of only three players (Nathan Wang) to compete in every competition last season and the only freshman to do so.

THE SUMMER OF DEAN » Dean Greyserman enters his senior season on The Farm following an outstanding summer season back on the east coast. Greyserman, who appeared in three competitions in the 2024-25 season for Stanford, won two tournaments over the summer culminating in earning an automatic bid to the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship with a 3&1 win at the 123rd Met Amateur Championship in early August. Greyserman also took the top spot at the 70th Ike in July to kickstart MGA competitions. 

FRESH FACES » A relatively young squad, Stanford welcomes two highly-touted recruits for the 2025-26 season in Edan Cui and Cooper Stearns. Cui enters his freshman season having been ranked No. 41 in the Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings and was the seventh-highest player in the state of California following a win and four top-10 finishes on the AJGA circuit. Stearns comes to Stanford having been a multi-sport athlete at Irvine High School in golf and basketball. The 2025 Orange County Boys Athlete of the Year, Stearns was ranked No. 326 in the AJGA rankings and earned his lone junior win at the Los Angeles City Junior Championship.
