Men’s Basketball Signs Jones

Jones reclassified to join the Cardinal in 2025

STANFORD, Calif. – Finalizing its roster for the 2025-26 campaign, Kyle Smith, the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men’s Basketball, has announced the signing of Myles Jones (Sacramento, Calif.). Jones is the fourth freshman addition in the Cardinal’s class of 2025 and the sixth newcomer overall.

“Myles is a highly-skilled guard who has excellent feel. He can provide playmaking and long-range shooting,” said Smith. “He adds to our young core, and he will have a great opportunity to learn under the tutelage of our two senior guards, Benny and Jeremy.”

A 6-3 guard, Jones arrives at Stanford as a consensus three-star addition from Modesto Christian. Originally the Cardinal’s first player to commit in the 2026 recruiting class, Jones reclassified to join the program for the upcoming season.

Jones put together averages of 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and a team-leading 3.7 assists per game for Modesto Christian as a junior, leading the team to a 12-0 mark in the Tri-City Athletic League to win a second-straight conference championship. Jones was a two-time first team all-conference honoree as a sophomore and junior, and the section player of the year as a sophomore.

“Myles comes from an athletic family and learned the game from his father, who was a highly successful head coach in the Sacramento area,” continued Smith. “He understands the game in a way that Stanford fans will appreciate.”
