STANFORD, Calif. – Redshirt juniors Daniel Cardenas and Hunter Garvin will kick off the 2025-26 season at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic, being held Nov. 1 at Jersey Mike’s Arena on the campus of Rutgers University.
The event can be viewed only on FloWrestling and will feature 10 highly-ranked Division I folkstyle matchups, along with four cross-divisional women’s freestyle matches and one DII versus DIII men’s match.
Ranked No. 4 to start the season by Flowrestling, Cardenas will face off against No. 5 Ty Watters of West Virginia. Cardenas, who redshirted the 2024-25 season, is a returning All-American, placing fourth at 157 pounds at the 2024 NCAA Championships in Kansas City. He is 56-11 in two seasons wrestling for the Cardinal.
Garvin, also ranked No.4 by Flowrestling, will take on No. 7 Max Brignola of Lehigh at 165 pounds. A returning two-time All-American, Garvin is 58-28 in his Cardinal career. He has twice finished sixth at the NCAA Championships. He is making his second appearance at the NWCA All-Star Classic.
