Tops in Golfweek Survey

Anne Walker voted best coach by her peers

Golfweek Story Opens in a new window

Golfweek surveyed all NCAA DI women's golf coaches with one simple question: Who is the best head coach in the country? The answer was unsurprising to those on The Farm: Mitch and Margot Milias Director of Women’s Golf, Anne Walker, was named the best by her peers.

Walker is a four-time conference coach of the year recipient and a three-time WGCA coach of the year winner. Stanford has advanced to the match play portion of the NCAA Championship in all ten years under the current format, the only team to do so. Stanford has also entered match play as the top seed five years in a row. Under her guidance, Walker has produced 37 All-Americans in 13 years, with at least one coming every season. Stanford has also won 51 full-field tournaments during her tenure.

Stanford hosts the annual Stanford Intercollegiate, presented by Dr. Condoleezza Rice, on Oct. 17-19. The field will be stacked, with 12 of the top 25 amateurs in the world participating and nine of the top 21 teams in the nation.
