Season Starts in Stockton

2025-26 season begins with two sessions at the University of the Pacific

  • The 2025-26 season begins on Friday for Stanford men’s swimming at the PAC Invite, hosted by the University of the Pacific in Stockton.
  • Overnight is streaming the PAC Invite and will have coverage throughout the day.
  • The meet has two sessions: a morning and an evening session. The morning session gets underway at 10:00 am and will resume after an afternoon break at 5:00 pm. A schedule of events is listed below:
    • Session 1: 200 medley relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle relay
    • Session 2: 100 butterfly, 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle relay
  • In Stanford’s first season in the ACC, the Cardinal won individual titles at the conference championship and placed second as a team. Stanford earned an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in March.
  • Among those who have since graduated from the program, Stanford loses a trio of impactful seniors: Jack Ryan, Andrei Minakov, and Ron Polonsky. They combined for 15 All-America honors last season alone.
  • A number of talented returners remain in the water for the Card, including All-America First Team diver Misha Andriyuk, All-ACC and All-America Second Team Liam Custer, and ACC champion Henry McFadden (200 freestyle).
  • Stanford set six school records last year and had a total of 14 individual swimmers and divers earn All-America honors, the third-most of any school in the country.
  • Dan Schemmel, the Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming, announced a class of eight swimming and diving signees for the 2025-26 season. A full breakdown of each student-athlete can be found HERE.
  • Friday marks Stanford’s first appearance in the PAC Invite since the season-opener in 2019. Stanford won that year’s event, nearly doubling the point total of the second-place Tigers.
  • The PAC Invite is the first of five events for the Cardinal in the 2025 portion of the season. Stanford will also hold a Tri Meet with Arizona State and California, participate in the Triple Distance Meet in Berkeley, and head to Texas for the Texas Diving Invite and the SMU Invite.
  • Individual meets are on the schedule in January against UC San Diego (Jan. 16), USC (Jan. 17), and California (Jan. 30).
