STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford Athletics is teaming up with Robinhood Markets for a multi-year partnership designed to empower and prepare student-athletes for lifelong success.

This strategic alliance at the intersection of sports and academics will deliver financial education programs and campus-wide initiatives that build financial literacy and leadership skills.

“As the alma mater of our co-founders, Stanford University plays a significant role in the Robinhood origin story.  It’s a special place where industry-disrupting ideas can become reality.” said Chloe Barz, Senior Director of International Government and External Affairs at Robinhood Markets, Inc. “We’re excited to bring the power of Money Drills to campus, preparing students to navigate the success they may find on campus and beyond, while also supporting the Athletics Department and teams this season.”

Robinhood Money Drills®, launched in 2022, is a financial education program designed specifically for student-athletes. The initiative addresses the unique financial challenges athletes face—including NIL opportunities, short earnings windows, and uncertain career paths—by offering practical tools to help them manage money and plan for the future.

At Stanford, Robinhood’s support will fund curricular development. Coursework will cover budgeting, credit, debt management, taxes, insurance, and investing fundamentals. Beyond the classroom, the partnership will also bring on-campus events and guest speakers such as former professional athletes.

“This collaboration is about investing in our student-athletes’ futures,” said Alden Mitchell, Chief Operating Officer, Stanford Athletics. “We are thrilled to partner with Robinhood to bring Money Drills to campus and equip our student-athletes with financial tools that will help them thrive long after their time at Stanford.”

The partnership officially kicks off this fall with a slate of initiatives, including:

  • Robinhood-supported curricular development for a freshmen transition course for student-athletes, focused on financial wellness.
  • Stanford University Athletics Department sponsorship, the first collegiate team to join Robinhood’s portfolio of athletic partnerships
  • Guest lectures from industry leaders and athletes, preparing students for financial, professional, and personal success.
