ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Jay Leng’s best round of the season highlighted a solid end to the fall slate for the Stanford men’s golf team as the Cardinal wrapped up competition at The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Sunday. Stanford battled through the elements in the third round, ending the three-day tournament at even-par and eighth overall.
Leng earned his impressive third round amidst a drastic change in weather from Saturday’s 10-under team effort. Having entered the morning wave at 4-over through two rounds, Leng rattled off four-consecutive birdies nearing the turn from holes 8 through 11 to finish the afternoon with a season-best round at 4-under, 68. Leng ended the day as the leader for Stanford and finished the tournament at even-par and tied for 21st overall.
With Leng serving as the lone Cardinal to shoot under par, Stanford did well to battle through the blustery wind and rain that blanketed the third round. Ethan Gao, who was headed into the turn at 1-under, was second among the Stanford leaderboard following a tough back nine that ended his afternoon at 2-over. Nathan Wang, meanwhile, grabbed two birdies during his final round, turning in a 4-over, 72 card following Sunday’s action. Gao ended the tournament at 6-over and tied for 41st overall while Wang ended the weekend tied alongside Leng for 21st overall at even-par.
Golfing as Stanford’s independent player, Dean Greyserman turned in his best round of the tournament, ending Sunday’s round at 2-under having cashed in three of his five final round birdies in his final nine holes. Making his tournament debut this weekend, Cooper Stearns placed as Stanford’s final scoring golfer with his best round of the tournament, earning two birdies on the day to finish at 5-over, which slotted him 72nd overall.
Edan Cui, who battled into a 6-over card on Sunday, earned his best finish in a collegiate tournament so far, earning his first top-10 finish with an overall score of 6-under par. The Cardinal freshman turned in two career rounds heading into the final day and ended his fall slate at sixth overall.
Stanford heads back to The Farm in preparation for the new year, setting its sights on a match play duel against Texas A&M in The Golden State on January 25, 2026.
