STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 4 Cardinal fell to 8-4 on the season this afternoon with a 14-11 loss to No. 1 UCLA at Avery Aquatics Center. Ben Forer led the Stanford attack, scoring six times in the loss.
The Cardinal fell behind early, trailing 2-0 after the first period of play. But in the second, Stanford’s offense got rolling.
Alex Gheorghe scored twice in the period, and Ben Forer’s second goal of the game came with just a second left in the half to tie it at 5-5.
Forer kept the hot streak going in the third, scoring three more to bring his total to five on the day and give the Card a 10-9 lead heading into the final period.
UCLA fought back in the fourth to take the victory.
The Card is back in action next weekend, hosting Long Beach State on Sunday, Oct. 12. The Game is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. PT, and will be streamed on Overnght.
