HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Four members of the Stanford beach volleyball team brought home two top-12 finishes at the 2025 Women's Pairs National Championship at the AVCA Fall National Championship Nov. 7-9. The Cardinal’s duo of junior Brooke Rockwell and sophomore Avery Jackson finished tied for 5th place, while senior Kelly Belardi and sophomore Charlotta Bell earned a tied-for-11th-place finish.
Friday saw both pairs earn two wins and move on to the round of 16. Rockwell and Jackson first took on Tampa’s Fredette-Huffman/Peterson 21-19, 21-12 and followed with a two-set sweep of Coastal Carolina’s Kunaus/Lyo 21-16, 21-18. Belardi and Bell also earned two victories, topping Houston Christian’s Landmark/Zeigler 21-17, 21-15 and Tulane’s Ensign/Todd 17-21, 21-16, 15-8.
Belardi and Bell opened Saturday play against eventual tied-for-seventh-place finishers LMU’s Brach/Hooker, falling 20-22, 19-21. Jackson and Rockwell battled UCLA’s Alden/LaBreche for a morning victory, taking the win in three sets 21-18, 16-21, 15-12. Belardi/Bell then moved into the ninth-place bracket, earning a victory over Texas’ Davis/White 21-16, 21-18.
With its morning win, Jackson/Rockwell then moved on to the tournament’s quarterfinals. Taking on eventual fourth-place finishers TCU’s Glenn/Khmil, the duo suffered its first defeat of the tournament in a three-set battle, falling 21-17, 14-21, 13-15.
Belardi/Bell finished the tournament Sunday morning with an 11-21, 13-21 loss to Cal Poly’s Martinez/Walter. Jackson/Rockwell concluded play with a 21-18, 21-16 victory over LMU’s Brach/Hooker.
Play in Huntsville ended Stanford Beach Volleyball's fall action. The Cardinal's 2026 schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
