COLUMBUS, Ga. — The fall portion of the season is officially over for top-ranked Stanford women’s golf, and with it, the annual ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List. The Cardinal lands four on the watch list, the same group of four honored in the preseason, giving Stanford the most golfers in the country on the list.
If Megha Ganne holds her current pace, she could be in line for one of the best collegiate golf seasons on record. In nine rounds in the fall, she scored in the 60s eight times, averaging an incredible 69.0. She finished in the top 10 in all three tournaments, including a win at the Stanford Intercollegiate, her third career victory. Outside of The Farm, she represented the United States at the World Amateur Team Championships and helped Team USA win the Espirito Santo Trophy.
Paula Martín Sampedro finished the fall of her junior campaign with a pair of top-five finishes in October, including a second-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate. Still one of the most consistent golfers in the world, her average score of 70.0 through nine fall rounds has her firmly in the top 10 of the most recent Scoreboard powered by Clippd individual rankings. Martín Sampedro is also the second-ranked amateur in the world at the close of the fall season.
Meja Örtengren closed out the fall in style with a win at the Nanea Invitational, the second win of her collegiate career. She began the final round seven strokes off the lead before shooting an impressive 7-under 66 to win. The sophomore from Sweden owns a pair of top 10 finishes in the fall and will look to build on her strong spring from 2025, which saw her win her first collegiate tournament and finish as an ANNIKA Award finalist.
Despite not having a finish better than fourth, Andrea Revuelta turned in a marvelous fall season. She is the only Cardinal to finish one stroke over par or better during all nine rounds thus far, with four rounds in the 60s, and her worst round standing as a 1-over 71. She also scored an impressive 4&3 win in match play against Wake Forest at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, being Chloe Kovelesky.
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner is voted on by players, coaches, and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer.
Stifel, one of the nation’s leading wealth management and investment banking firms, serves as the presenting sponsor of both the ANNIKA and Haskins Awards. Stifel also serves as a presenting sponsor for the NCAA Division I Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships on GOLF Channel.
