Texas Diving Invite Up Next for Three Card

Stanford sends three divers to Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — No. 8 Stanford is set to send its three divers to the annual Texas Diving Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas. The three-day event begins on Nov. 13 and concludes on Nov. 15.

The field of 64 divers, including four from the Stanford women’s program, will compete in different prelims, quarterfinals, and championships each day. For the men, the schedule breaks down as follows:

  • Thursday – 1-meter diving
  • Friday – 3-meter diving
  • Saturday – platform diving

Misha Andriyuk, Gunnar Grubbs, and Grant Schneider will be competing for the Cardinal in Austin. The Card coming in with the most momentum is Grubbs, who was named ACC Co-Diver of the Week on Oct. 28 after his performance during the Double Dual with Arizona State and California. He won in 3-meter diving after scoring 382.85, becoming the second Cardinal to win the award since Stanford’s move to the ACC.

Misha Andriyuk was the highest-placing Cardinal in 1-meter diving during the Double Dual, with a score of 302.95. He finished fourth in 3-meter diving. Grant Schneider made his collegiate debut in the Double Dual and placed eighth in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving.

In last year’s Texas Diving Invitational, Andriyuk scored 380.75 in platform diving to finish second, while Jack Ryan won both springboard events. Andriyuk is the only returning Cardinal among its divers this season.
