Singles Bracket ESPN+
  • Stanford is sending Valerie Glozman and Alyssa Ahn to the NCAA Singles Championship, which begins on Tuesday in Orlando.
    • Glozman is the No. 1 seed and opens with Baylor's Na Dong at 10 a.m. PT tomorrow.
    • Ahn is unseeded and will face Florida's Gabia Paskauskas in her first match at 1 p.m. PT.
  • In Stanford’s first action of the fall, Glozman capped an incredible start to her sophomore season by winning the ITA Women’s All-American singles title, beating Carmen Herea of Texas in the final, 6-2, 6-3.
    • Glozman is the first champion from Stanford since Hilary Barte in 2010 and the fourth all-time, joining Patty Fendick (1987), Sandra Birch (1989, 1990) and Barte.
    • Her victory also edged the Cardinal in front of Florida for the most ITA All-American women’s singles titles of all time with five.
    • Stanford’s superstar, who entered the year sixth in the ITA rankings and was seeded fourth at this tournament, dropped just one set in her six matches in North Carolina. Glozman picked up ranked wins over No. 52 Emilija Tverijonaite (Arizona State), No. 17 Mao Mushika (California), No. 47 Emma Charney (USC), No. 11 Teah Chavez (Ohio State) and No. 21 Herea.
    • She’s won her last 14 collegiate matches dating back to last season and moved to 20-5 all-time against ranked opponents in her nearly one-and-a-half seasons on The Farm.
  • Freshman Alyssa Ahn burst onto the scene in her second tournament for Stanford, winning the ITA Northwest Regional Championships singles title with a 6-0, 6-1 throttling California’s Naomi Xu.
    • Ahn is the second consecutive freshman winner of the tournament for the Cardinal, following Valerie Glozman in 2024. Stanford has now produced the tournament singles champion in 13 of the last 15 years: Ahn (2025), Glozman (2024), Alexandra Yepifanova (2022), Connie Ma (2021), Michaela Gordon (2019, 2018, 2017), Taylor Davidson (2015), Carol Zhao (2014), Kristie Ahn (2013, 2010), Krista Hardebeck (2012) and Nicole Gibbs (2011).
    • Ahn, who entered the year 90th in the ITA rankings and was seeded fifth at this tournament, dropped just one set in her six matches in Berkeley and picked up ranked wins over No. 68 Reece Carter (Washington) and No. 113 Berta Passola Folch (California). She’s 10-2 in her first 12 collegiate matches, including 5-2 against ranked opponents.
    • In beating Passola Folch 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinals, Ahn qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship.
  • Fourteen Cardinal have won an NCAA Singles title, the most recent being Nicole Gibbs in 2013. Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs in 2012 were the last of eight NCAA Doubles champions from Stanford.
    • Both totals are the most in the nation.
  • It was a strong summer for the Cardinal, highlighted by Stanford participation at the US Open.
    • Valerie Glozman and Alyssa Ahn both earned main draw wild cards, Glozman by winning the women's singles title at the American Collegiate Wild Card Playoffs in June and Ahn by winning the singles title at the USTA Billie Jean King Girls’ 18s National Championships.
  • Stanford is in its second season under head coach Frankie Brennan. Last year, the Cardinal put together a 17-9 record, making its 43rd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and its 42nd trip to the Round of 16.
    • Since joining the staff in 1996, Brennan has enhanced Stanford's reputation as the country's top program by helping guide the Cardinal to a 717-80 overall record, 12 NCAA championships, 21 conference regular-season titles and six conference tournament crowns. During his tenure, Brennan has mentored 39 All-Americans.
