WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Hitting .345 as a team, No. 5 Stanford swept Wake Forest, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17, Sunday, at Reynolds Gym.
Stanford (20-3, 11-1 ACC) held Wake Forest (10-13, 4-8 ACC) to a .118 clip. The Cardinal racked up 11.0 blocks, 39 digs and nine aces.
Middle blocker Lizzy Andrew led the team with nine kills on 14 errorless swings to hit .643. The sophomore also notched four blocks. Outside hitter Julia Blyashov also tallied nine kills on .364 hitting to go with ive digs and three aces.
Setter Logan Parks controlled the offense with 34 assists and had three kills, nine digs, four blocks and two aces. Libero Spencer Etzler collected a match-high 12 digs, while defensive specialist Koko Kirsch matched her career-high with three aces.
Opposite Jordyn Harvey totaled seven kills on .350 hitting, six digs, two blocks, two assists and an ace. Outside hitter Elia Rubin finished with five kills, four digs, two blocks and an assist, while middle blocker Erika Sayer added five kills and a match-high seven blocks.
Wake Forest was led by Paige Crawford who registered a match-high 13 kills on .286 hitting. Stanford improved to 2-0 all-time against the Demon Deacons.
Stanford returns to The Farm next week to begin a five-match homestand on Friday against North Carolina.
