STANFORD, Calif. — General Manager Andrew Luck and Stanford football announced the signing of 23 student-athletes on Wednesday’s National Signing Day. A program-record seven signees will join the program as early enrollees in January.

“I’m so excited about this class. They’re dynamite on the field, rockstars in the classroom, and strong leaders,” said General Manager Andrew Luck when asked about next year’s incoming class. “They believe in this school, this program, and where we are going. I’m excited for them to get here and plug into one of the great locker rooms in college football and see how they positively impact this program.”

There were certainly some challenges that came with Luck’s first full-year class as General Manager. He began in his role just over one year ago, beginning days before last year’s National Signing Day. Along with the recruiting staff, he had an entire year to put his fingerprints on this group, but Luck is quick to give credit to others in the program.

“There are challenges in recruiting, period, as I’m coming to learn,” Luck stated candidly. “This class committed without knowing who their head coach was. But I can tell you, they are excited about Coach Pritchard. With change and other things, there are always challenges. I thought our staff and coaches did an unbelievable job.”

Stanford added a quarterback from the Bay Area on Wednesday in the form of Mike Mitchell Jr. A product of Archbishop Riordan in San Francisco, Mitchell Jr. was named the CalHi Sports Football Player of the Year in 2025 after throwing for 3,471 yards and 46 touchdowns as a senior. He holds the WCAL record for single-season completions, touchdowns, and passing yards after taking his team to a CCS Open Division championship.

Wide receiver earned some serious additions, with five student-athletes added, the most of any position group on offense. Langdon Horace racked up over 3,300 career receiving yards at Edison High School in Stockton and is a two-time CIF SJS medalist on the track team. Atticus Joseph also played baseball and wrestled at Collins Hill High School, and earned Second Team All-Region 8-6A honors in football. Daylen Sharper is one of the best wide receivers in the state of Arizona, landing on the Fiesta Sports Foundation’s Preseason All-State team in 2025. Jacob Butler holds the Long Island Lutheran record for single-season receiving yards and accumulated over 3,000 yards in his career. Zion Robinson is a four-star prospect who racked up 11 touchdowns as a senior at Mansfield High School and carries great size (6’4”).

Tight End U welcomes its newest member in Marcus Monroe. Monroe led the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference in receptions, yards, and touchdowns en route to All-State honors.

Three offensive linemen join The Farm. Jay Miller is a four-star recruit and one of the best prospects in Arizona, ranked as high as No. 2 in the state and No. 15 nationally by ESPN. Blaise Thomassie is an iron man on the line, never missing a game in his career, and earned All-State honors while helping Catholic High School to a pair of District 4-5A championships. Ammon Alexander (Queen Creek, Ariz./Franklin) has seen his recruitment pick up over the last several months, with the Cardinal winning the race over other programs like BYU and UCLA.

Starting up front on the defensive side, a defensive line standout signed with Stanford on Wednesday. Max Meier stays in-state to bring his pass-rushing ability to The Farm. He accumulated 37 tackles-for-loss and 20 sacks in his high school career at Loyola, helping him earn four-star status by On3 | Rivals.

Three outside linebackers will help on the edge. One of the most prolific edge rushers in North Carolina is Keysaun Eleazer, who racked up over 20 sacks and 40 tackles-for-loss. Sarrel Howard is a Southern California native who is a top-80 prospect who also put up over 20 sacks in his last two high school seasons. Lucas Shanafelt played on both sides of the ball, with over 500 yards as a tight end and seven sacks as a senior at Peters Township.

At the inside linebacker position, Chase Cahoon and Wassie Lugolobi are on their way to The Farm. Cahoon comes from just down Highway 101 in Mountain View as a two-time team captain at Saint Francis, racking up nearly 300 combined tackles. Lugolobi (Seattle, Wash./Eastside Catholic) is a top-25 inside linebacker prospect in the country and a three-time All-Metro linebacker who was named the league’s defensive player of the year twice.

The largest position group that signed on Wednesday comes in the secondary, where seven future Cardinal were added. Caleb Carson (Lovejoy, Ga./Lovejoy) is a two-time First Team All-State honoree who played wide receiver, corner, safety, and punter. Jack Duckworth (Rockwall, Texas/Rockwall) is another two-way player who has earned All-District 10 Utility Player of the Year honors. Xavier Harmon (Humble, Texas/Conroe) did damage in the secondary and as a returner as a senior, earning All-District Defensive Back honors.

Jason Hill Jr. (Folsom, Calif./Folsom) piled up an incredible 15 interceptions in his career and comes from an NFL background, thanks to his father, who played six seasons in the NFL. Lasiah Jackson (Leesburg, Ga./Lee County) is a four-star recruit who is a top-20 defensive back prospect in the country. Zaiden McDonald (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X Shabazz) was excellent in the secondary and also added 12 sacks in his high school career. Dre Pollard (Las Vegas, Nev./Clark) is a true two-way player with over 4,000 all-purpose yards in his final two seasons and five interceptions.

“I’m excited across the board. The game begins and ends up front, so we did a really good job on both the offensive and defensive lines,” Luck mentioned about this year’s group. “We got some really talented guys in the secondary, some receivers who can make big plays. We have some tough dudes. There’s so much quality across the board.”
