STANFORD, Calif. – Led by Pacific Region Player of the Year Elia Rubin, six Stanford women’s volleyball players earned all-region honors, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today.
Setter Logan Parks was named the Pacific Region Freshman of the Year, while Kevin Hambly, The Montag Family Director of Women’s Volleyball, was tabbed the Pacific Region Coach of the Year.
Earning AVCA All-Pacific Region First Team honors are Rubin, Parks, Lizzy Andrew, Julia Blyashov and Jordyn Harvey. Freshman Erika Sayer landed on the honorable mention list. Stanford has had at least four all-region players in 11 of the last 12 seasons. Players named to the all-region teams are now in contention to become 2025 AVCA All-Americans.
Rubin is the fourth player in program history to be selected the region player of the year following Kathryn Plummer (2017, 2018), Kendall Kipp (2022, 2023) and Kami Miner (2024). Parks is the ninth Cardinal to earn region freshman of the year honors, while Hambly is being recognized for a third time. Stanford now boasts 137 all-region selections all-time (including honorable mention).
Rubin, a four-time all-conference selection and semifinalist for AVCA Player of the Year, leads the team and is ninth in the ACC with 3.98 points per set. She is fourth in the conference with 0.39 aces per set and paces the team with 3.43 kills per set and 12 double-doubles this season. The Santa Monica is just the 11th player in school history to register both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. In November, she set the school record for aces in the rally-scoring era to 25 and currently has 150.
Parks has set the Cardinal to a .297 team hitting percentage – good for third in the ACC and eighth nationally. The Overland Park, Kansas, native is third in the ACC with 9.99 assists per set, helping Stanford pace the conference in kills per set (14.14) and assists per set (13.39). The Cardinal has hit .300 or higher in a match 15 times this season. Parks, a two-time ACC Setter of the Week, turned in a career-high 64 assists in a five-set win at No. 7 Louisville (Nov. 29), marking the most assists in a match by a Stanford player since 2017.
Andrew, a middle blocker from Ridgefield, Washington, is second in the ACC with a .441 attack percentage, ranking seventh nationally. She is second on the team with 1.18 blocks per set and averages 2.42 kills per set. Andrew has registered double-digit kills in 12 matches and hit .400 or better 21 times this season.
Blyashov is second on the team with 3.05 kills per set and averages 1.51 digs, 0.26 aces and 3.51 points per set. An outside hitter from Carlsbad, she has three double-doubles on the season and has led the team in kills in nine matches. She has tallied double-digit kills 10 times and hit .300 or higher 11 times.
Harvey, a two-time all-region selection, ranks third on the team with 3.14 points per set. The Salt Lake City native has registered five double-doubles this season, averaging 2.40 kills and 1.91 digs per set. She has totaled double-digit kills in 13 matches and hit .300 or better 13 times.
Sayer, a middle blocker from Colorado Springs, ranks seventh in the ACC with a .374 attack percentage. A two-time ACC Freshman of the Week, she is averaging 2.22 kills and leads the team with 1.23 blocks per set – 10th in the ACC. She has recorded double-digit kills on nine occasions, had five more blocks 14 times, and hit .400 or higher in 17 matches.
Stanford is the No. 2 seed in the Austin Region. The Cardinal has advanced to its 22nd NCAA regional semifinal and will face (3) Wisconsin on Friday at 11:30 a.m. PT on ESPN.
