COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - No. 1S tanford won five of seven events, finishing second at the Rocky Mountain Open with a score of 320.750.
No. 2 Oklahoma won the meet with a 323.950 meet score, while the Cardinal finished ahead of No. 4 Nebraska (311.500) and No. 9 Air Force (302.100).
David Shamah led the Cardinal with a pair of event victories, turning in a career-best 14.500 parallel bars routine to earn a share of the event title, while also pacing the field in the all-around race with a 79.700. Shamah also added a fifth-place finish on pommel horse (13.800), as his performance on Saturday qualified him for the Winter Cup next month.
Nick Kuebler continued his impressive start to the season with a high bar title after a 14.000 routine. The reigning MPSF gymnast of the week also added runner-up finishes on floor exercise (13.950) and still rings (14.050).
Wade Nelson won his second consecutive vault title with a 14.150 score, while teammates Toma Murakawa and Jun Iwai tied for second with 14.100 vaults.
Reece Landsperger rounded out the Cardinal winners after collecting his first career event title with a 14.100 on still rings, his best rings routine in a Stanford uniform.
Stanford returns to action next weekend, competing in Burnham Pavilion for the first time this season as it hosts the Stanford Open on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. PT.
