STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford resumes competition this weekend with an appearance at the Incarnate Word Invitational on Jan. 30-31 in San Antonio, Texas.
The Cardinal opened its 2026 campaign on Jan. 24 with a strong showing at the OSU Invitational. Stanford, which totaled 61 points, produced its best performance in the trio competition, as Yara Elian, Calista Liu and Audrey Kwon captured an event title with 201.1008 points. In the Tech A competition, Elian (80.5989) won her second event crown while Xue (80.3898) finished second to claim the top two spots.
Yara Elian was named MPSF Artistic Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 27 for her performances at the OSU Invitational. Elian captured a pair of event titles to lead the Cardinal, teaming up with Calista Liu and Audrey Kwon to win the trio competition with 201.1008 points. In the Tech A competition, Elian claimed her second crown with 80.5989 points. Elian, the 2024 MPSF Artistic Swimmer of the Year and 2023 MPSF Freshman of the Year, earned her second career conference weekly award. She is also a six-time MPSF individual champion.
Stanford is attempting to win back-to-back national championships for the first time since a four-peat from 2005-08. The Cardinal secured its 10th national title in school history in 2025, claiming event titles in team, duet and trio on the way to winning it all for the first time since 2021. Stanford also posted a runner-up finish in the solo routine. Meanwhile, Artistic Swimming is one of only six varsity programs on The Farm to have won at least 10 national team championships.
