Promotions for Two Staff Members

Matt Doyle and Albert Garcia receive new titles

STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford football general manager Andrew Luck announced promotions for two individuals on staff. Matt Doyle has been named the Associate General Manager for Football Administration, Player Development and Alumni Relations. Albert Garcia has been named the Director of Recruiting Strategy and High School Personnel.

Doyle finished his 26th year at Stanford following the 2025 season, where he spent the last decade as the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Football Operations and Player Development.

“Matt is an incredibly valuable piece of the Stanford football program, and in many ways is the glue of our staff,” said Luck. “He provides unique expertise across many fields and has a work ethic that is unmatched. I’m thrilled for him to begin in this new Associate General Manager role.”

Over his time at Stanford, Doyle has helped establish a number of programs to benefit current and former student-athletes, including Stanford Football Alumni United, which supports the team and players through alumni engagement, mentorship, career development, and marketing. He also created Card4Life, which expands career development opportunities in the summer and beyond for former and current student-athletes.

Among other broad responsibilities for Doyle in his career at Stanford include the overall management of the football budget, team travel, bowl game coordination, and the Stanford Football Camps and Clinics. He also plays a key role in fundraising and outreach for the program as he coordinates football alumni communications and fundraising.

Garcia arrived at Stanford in 2023 as the Assistant Director of Football Player Personnel. He now oversees the recruiting department and will continue to work closely with Luck and others in the front office to continue building the future of Stanford football.

“Albert is a tireless worker who has proven his merit in his three seasons on The Farm,” Luck said. “I’m excited to continue working with him as we build out great recruiting classes with young men who fit the profile of what we are working on building at Stanford.”

During his time The Farm, Garcia has helped bring in three top-40 recruiting classes at Stanford. Many of those players made immediate impacts for the Cardinal, with at least 22 freshmen playing every year from 2023-25. While high school recruiting is a key emphasis, he also helped Stanford utilize the transfer portal more than the program has before, bringing in 17 transfers in advance of the 2025 season. That is more transfers than Stanford has had during every year of the football program combined.

Among the players Garcia helped bring to Stanford, three of them earned All-ACC honors in 2025. Jay Green, Clay Patterson, and CJ Williams were all honored following the year as Stanford landed five on the All-ACC team, the most in the program's brief history in the ACC.
