LA QUINTA, Calif. — With high winds forcing a cancellation of play for the third round of The Prestige, Stanford men’s golf earned its first tournament win in nearly two years being crowned champions after 36 holes of action. Stanford, which held a three-stroke lead through two rounds, earns its first tournament victory since the 2023-24 season when the Cardinal took home the win at The Western Intercollegiate in April 2024.
Stanford, which was coming off a strong outing in Hawaii to begin the spring slate, snagged the lead on Tuesday’s second round with a brilliant display of golf from all five Cardinal. Having tied for fourth overall after Monday’s opening round, Stanford was one of four programs to shoot under par in the second round, earning the second-best score of the day at 5-under.

Due to high winds, the third round of The Prestige has been cancelled. Stanford earns its first tournament win since 2024 while Dean and TK take a tie for second overall!! #GoStanford pic.twitter.com/Y3Fc2Jch9m
It was not all smooth sailing to begin the second round for Stanford with the Cardinal amassing a 7-over team score through three holes. However, Stanford dug deep and rattled off 18 birdies during the second round to eek out the 5-under card.
TK Chantananuwat and Dean Greyserman finished the tournament as co-runners up individually at 3-under overall, just two shots back of Oregon’s Aiden Krafft for the individual lead. Chantananuwat and Greyserman both turned in cards in the 60s on Tuesday with the former serving as Stanford’s lead score at 4-under for the round. Greyserman and Chantananuwat both earned their highest collegiate finishes to a tournament tied for second.
Edan Cui and Nathan Wang also earned top-20 placements following the tournament’s abrupt end. Wang, who helped guide Stanford back into the title race with six of Stanford’s 18 birdies on Tuesday snags his sixth career top-20 finish and his second of the season while Cui earns his second top-20 finish in just his sixth collegiate tournament. Jay Leng also shot well for the tournament, ending week in 50th following a 1-over round on Tuesday. With the win, Stanford claimed The Prestige team title for the third time in the tournament’s history, having claimed the trophy in 2006 and 2014. Stanford has also boasted four individual champions at the team event.
Meanwhile, over at The Prestige Individual Tournament, Stanford took home the individual crown as Kush Arora nabbed his first collegiate win, turning in a 1-under, 71, to narrowly beat out teammate Ethan Gao for the title. Arora countered an early rough start, having gone 2-over through four holes, with four birdies in his next six holes to take a 2-under card into the final stretch. The senior then doubled down in his final four holes, negating two consecutive bogeys with a birdie on hole 17 before clinching the win with a par outing on hole 18.

In second place, Ethan Gao also shot well for the tournament, keeping his 3-under opening round score through the remaining 36 holes to finish at 3-under for the tournament and in control of the runner-up slot as he and Arora were the only two players to shoot under-par for the tournament.
Stanford is back in action in just under two weeks, beginning the March slate of tournaments with a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico to take part in the Cabo Collegiate, hosted by the University of Arkansas from March 1-3.
