STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford Cardinal debuts the program's new state-of-the-art facility this week, opening up the 2026 season at Stanford Softball Stadium with a five-game slate at the Stanford Invitational.
The No. 18 Cardinal opens the weekend with a lone game on Thursday against No. 24 Oklahoma State at 6:00 p.m. PT, before hosting busy tournament days Friday through Sunday.
New Home Sweet Home » The Cardinal enters year one in Stanford Softball Stadium coming off of a 2024 season played in the regular home of Stanford Football.
- While playing at Stanford Stadium the Card went 22-4 and broke the NCAA softball single-game attendance record with 13,207 fans in attendance on April 19 against California.
- Since 2018, Allisters first season at the helm, Stanford owns a 128-54 (.703) record on The Farm.
- Stanford has posted a home winning percentage of .750 or better in five-straight seasons.
- Over the last three seasons, Stanford has gone 74-17 (.813) with only three series losses in the span.
Returning ACC Honorees » Stanford was one of only three teams with seven selections to 2025 All-ACC selections, and leads the conference with all seven selections returning for 2026.
- Virginia Tech and Florida State each saw seven honorees in 2025, returning five and four, respectively.
Power Surge » The Cardinal hit with record-breaking power in 2025. The team's 101 home runs in 55 games were the most in a season in program history. In 2024, in 57 games, Stanford hit 56 – then the second-most in a season in program history.
- The 101 homers were the seventh-most in the country, and came from 12 different players, including first-career home runs from River Mahler and Ella Murchison.
- Taryn Kern led the team with 19 dingers on the year, tied for the most in a season in program history.
- Kern wasn't the only one to break into the record book. Joie Economides' 15 homers were the fourth-most in a season in program history, and Jade Berry's 14 were tied for the fifth-most.
Compound Growth » Since Paul A. Violich Director of Softball Jessica Allister took over ahead of the 2018 season, the Card has scored more runs than the previous season each year, with the exception of the COVID-condensed 2020 season that only featured 26 games.
