No. 10 Cardinal Matches Eighth-Best Score in Program History with Victory Over No. 22 NC State

Anna Roberts and Ana Bărbosu shine with collegiate-best performances, leading Cardinal to 197.725 team total

RALEIGH, N.C. – Collegiate-best all-around totals from senior Anna Roberts and freshman Ana Bărbosu led the No. 10 Cardinal to its season-best team score at No. 22 NC State Saturday afternoon, topping the Wolfpack 197.725-196.575 inside Valvano Arena at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum.

The Cardinal’s team total of 197.725 matches its eighth-best score in program history. With the win in Raleigh, Stanford clinched at least a share of the ACC regular-season title. The crown will be decided at the Cardinal’s meet with No. 17 California on March 13, where a win would give Stanford the regular-season league championship outright, while a loss would result in a share of it with the Golden Bears.

Roberts claimed a share of the vault title and outright possession of both the beam and floor crowns, along with her all-around competition victory. Her all-around total of 39.700 is the best by any conference athlete this season and is tied for the fourth-best in the NCAA in 2026.

Stanford kicked off the meet with a 49.300 on bars, led by a superb rebound performance for junior Sienna Robinson, who posted a 9.925 after scoring a 8.900 just one week ago. Roberts followed with a 9.900, while sophomore Ui Soma anchored with a 9.850, and redshirt freshman Levi Jung-Ruivivar posted a 9.825 in the leadoff position. Bărbosu added the final scoring routine with a 9.800 in the fifth spot.

After one rotation, Stanford led 49.300-49.275.

The Cardinal then saw its team scores start to grow, beginning with a season-best 49.350 vault rotation. Seniors Roberts and Taralyn Nguyen tied for the title with matching scores of 9.900, and Soma and Bărbosu matched their career-best performances with totals of 9.850, while freshman Summer Gronski posted the same score in the third position.

Halfway through the meet, the Cardinal’s lead increased to 98.650-98.500.

The team scores continued to rise on floor as the Cardinal posted a 49.500 team total, led by Roberts’ 9.950, her fifth floor score of 9.900 or greater through seven meets. Bărbosu added her fourth score of 9.900 or better of the season with a 9.925 in the anchor position, while Robinson added a 9.900 up third, Jung-Ruivivar led off with a 9.875, and Nguyen posted a 9.850.

With three rotations complete, the Cardinal’s lead grew to 148.150-147.325.

Stanford’s final rotation of the night proved to be its best, posting a season-high beam total of 49.575 led by Roberts’ title-winning 9.950. The fifth-best beam rotation in the NCAA this season saw senior Claire Dean lead off with a 9.900, freshman Jennifer Williams make her collegiate debut with the same total, and Robinson post her third score of 9.900 or better of the night with a 9.900. Bărbosu anchored the rotation with a 9.925, matching her career-best total.

The Cardinal’s three-week road swing ends next Friday, Feb. 27, at Oregon State. The matchup between Stanford and the Beavers is set for a 7 p.m. PT start and will be streamed on Pac-12 Insider.
