Stanford blanks Concordia for second straight night

IRVINE, Calif. – For a second consecutive night, No. 18 Stanford swept Concordia, 25-23, 25-16, 25-14, in MPSF play at CU Arena.

Stanford (5-8, 4-0 MPSF) hit .366 as a team – its third-highest output this season. Concordia (3-9, 0-3 MPSF) was held to a .095 clip. The Cardinal again matched its season-high with six aces and held a 9.5 to 1.0 advantage in blocks.

Freshman Jacob Little-Phillips controlled the offense with 24 assists to go with two digs, a block, an ace and a kill. On the weekend, the Cardinal hit a combined .316.

Opposite Moses Wagner led Stanford with seven kills, a match-high five blocks, three digs and two aces. Middle blocker Luke McFall hit .857 with six kills on seven errorless swings to go with four blocks, three digs and an ace.

Outside hitter Nate Clinton added six kills on a .333 attack percentage, five digs, two blocks, two aces and an assist. Outside hitter Theo Snoey chipped in with five kills, six digs and two blocks, while middle blocker Kaumana Carreira had four kills and three blocks.

Libero Evan Porter collected four digs. Senior Ryan DuRoss was utilized as a serving sub in all three sets. True freshman Luke Morrison, an Irvine native, came off the bench in the first and third sets, notching a kill. Sophomore David Wolff appeared in two sets, tallying two kills including one on match point.

Stanford is back in action on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, as it hosts Saint Francis for a pair of nonconference matches in Burnham Pavilion.
