STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 12 Cardinal wrapped the DeMarini Invitational with a pair of wins this afternoon, erasing a two-run seventh-inning deficit against Boise State before run-ruling Santa Clara. The two wins put Stanford at 10-4 on the young season, and pushed Paul A. Violich Director of Softball Jessica Allister to 300 career wins on The Farm.

For the second time in as many starts, Zoe Prystajko carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning. Boise State’s first baserunner was a walk with two outs in the sixth, but the Broncos struck for two runs in the top of the seventh.

Prystajko finished the day with just one earned run allowed on two hits, striking out seven and walking one. The performance drops her ERA to 2.30 on the season, with 62 strikeouts in just 43.0 innings pitched. Last season, Prystajko finished the year with 74 strikeouts in 96.2 innings pitched.

The Cardinal came up clutch in the seventh, drawing three walks to load the bases with two outs for Jade Berry. With a full count, the junior drove a ball up the middle to bring in two, move Mylia Perez from first to third, and tie the game at 2-2.

Boise State intentionally walked Kyra Chan to load the bases again, with Joie Economides due up. Economides singled on the second pitch she saw, bringing the winning run to give the Card a 3-2 win.

The bats woke up in a big way in the second game of the day. After trailing 3-1 in the third, Stanford posted multiple runs in each of the final four frames to win 11-3 in six innings.

The Cardinal slugged 17 hits, led by Addyson Sheppard going 3-for-4 at the dish with a double. All told, seven Stanford batters recorded multiple hits, and every starter reached base at least twice.

Taryn Kern finished the game 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and was hit by a pitch. Her three RBI brought her season total to 16, the most on the team.

Elena Krause picked up the win in the circle, tossing all six innings and allowing just three runs on six hits.

The Cardinal hits the road next, opening ACC play at Louisville. The three-game series starts on Friday at 3:00 p.m. PT. The game, along with Saturday’s at 10:00 a.m. PT, will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. Sunday’s weekend finale at 3:00 p.m. PT will be available on ACC Network.
