STANFORD, Calif. – Behind senior Kelly Belardi’s record-setting 98th individual victory, No. 2 Stanford earned two top-16 ranked victories over No. 16 North Florida and No. 11 Long Beach State Saturday at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium.
The Cardinal (16-2) captured four victories throughout the two-day Stanford Invitational, including wins over three top-20 ranked opponents.
Belardi entered the weekend with 94 individual wins, and her four straight-set victories throughout the weekend brought her to her record-setting 98th win that clinched Stanford’s victory over No. 11 Long Beach State.
The Cardinal kicked off the second day of action at the Stanford Invitational with a 4-1 defeat of No. 16 North Florida, its second top-20 victory of the weekend. Stanford continued its winning ways against No. 11 Long Beach State, defeating the Beach 5-0 with four straight-set victories. Rockwell and Sorra secured the first point on court two, 21-17, 21-10. Sophomore Indigo Clarke and junior Clara Stowell came back from a first-set defeat to claim the second point, topping LBSU’s Henkel/Esser 17-21, 22-20, 15-8, while Belardi’s record-setting victory on court one with partner Avery Jackson clinched the dual, defeating the Beach’s Gementera/Hagenah 21-18, 21-15.
With finals on the horizon, the Cardinal takes an 11-day break from action on the sand, next traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, for a dual-match battle with No. 6 TCU on March 25. Two days later, Stanford competes in the 2026 Texas Invitational March 27-28. The Cardinal will take on host Texas, No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Florida Atlantic, and No. 16 North Florida while in Austin.
