Hong, Kuebler Earn Conference Awards

STANFORD, Calif. - Asher Hong secured his third conference Gymnast of the Year award and Nick Kuebler earned Specialist of the Year honors, as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced its annual awards Thursday.

A 2026 Nissen-Emery Award finalist, Hong has recorded three event titles this season and boasts 14-plus averages on still rings (14.250), vault (14.400), and parallel bars (14.150). Hong has also recorded the second-highest all-around score in the nation with an 80.300, leading the Cardinal to a season-high 326.450 and earning his 11th career MPSF Gymnast of the Week award for his effort.

It is Hong's third career MPSF Gymnast of the Year honor, as the award returns to The Farm for the eighth-straight season and the 12th time in the last 13 years. Hong (2023-24, 2026) remains among the seven recipients in program history, joining Taylor Burkhart (2025), Brody Malone (2019-22), Akash Modi (2014-17), Sho Nakamori (2009), and Dan Gill (2004).

Kuebler leads the Cardinal with seven event titles this season, while competing exclusively on floor exercise, high bar, and still rings. Kuebler ranks in the top four nationally in each of his three events, sitting third on floor and rings, and fourth on high bar. Kuebler also holds a share of the top high bar routine in the nation this season, turning in a 14.600 at the Stanford Open on Jan. 24.

A three-time MPSF Gymnast of the Week honoree this season, Kuebler becomes Stanford's first Specialist of the Year selection in program history.

No. 2 Stanford begins the postseason with the MPSF Championships on April 4 in Berkeley, Calif., competing against host California, Air Force, and Oklahoma. Competition begins at 4 p.m. PT on subscription-based platform, Overnght.
