Cardinal Aces Red Flash

Stanford sweeps Saint Francis for a second straight night

STANFORD, Calif. – Led by David Wolff and Alex Rottman, No. 18 Stanford swept Saint Francis, 25-17, 25-13, 25-23, Saturday, in Burnham Pavilion.

Stanford (7-8) hit .460 as a team, while holding Saint Francis (7-8) to a .233 clip. The Cardinal, which has won four in a row, totaled 36 kills, 22 digs, 7.0 blocks and a season-high eight aces.

Wolff registered a career and match-high 11 kills on a career-best .647 hitting to go with three digs and two blocks. The sophomore also put down a career-high two aces. Rottman added 10 kills, hitting a career-high .562, with a career-best two aces, a dig and a block.

Setter Jacob Little-Phillips guided the Cardinal offense to its second-highest hitting percentage of the season (.460) with 27 assists. The freshman also notched two aces, four digs, two blocks and a kill.

With Little-Phillips running the show, Stanford hit .512 through the first two sets. On the weekend, the Cardinal post a combined .469 attack percentage against the Red Flash.

Sophomore libero Evan Porter tallied six digs and a season-high four assists. Opposite Moses Wagner chipped in with five kills, six digs, a block and an ace.

Middle blocker Luke McFall hit .571 with five kills on seven swings with just one miscue to go with an ace and a block. Sophomore Kaumana Carreira finished with a match-high five blocks and four kills.

Stanford remains on The Farm week, hosting No. 6 BYU for a pair of MPSF matches in Maples Pavilion.
