No. 3 Cardinal falls to No. 2 Penn 5-4 at CSA National Championships

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 3 Cardinal came up just short to No. 2 Penn in the CSA National Championship semifinal this afternoon, falling 5-4 in the program’s second-ever trip to the semifinal round of the Howe Cup.

Madison Ho picked up the first win of the day for the Cardinal winning in straight sets on court six. Riya Shankaran, Tiana Parasrampuria and Valerie Huang won as well on courts five, seven and nine, respectively.

The wins from Parasrampuria (12-0) and Huang (10-0) kept the pair undefeated on the season.

Stanford moves into the consolation ladder, scheduled to take on No. 4 Harvard tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. PT in the third-place game. The Cardinal has only finished in the top four of the Howe Cup once, placing third in 2019.
