STANFORD, Calif. – Eight Cardinal have been named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced today.
Representing Stanford as individual Scholar All-Americans are redshirt juniors Daniel Cardenas (Science, Technology and Society), Luke Duthie (Data Science) and Nico Provo (Science, Technology and Society), redshirt sophomores Tyler Knox (Science, Technology and Society) and Abraham Wojcikiewicz (Economics), redshirt freshmen Jack Consiglio and EJ Parco, and true freshman Angelo Posada.
As a team, Stanford tied for the fifth-most honorees with 12 other institutions with its eight selections. Arizona State and Missouri led the nation with 10 recipients apiece, while Brown (9) and Pittsburgh (9) tied for third.
Provo (125 pounds) earns his third career honor, while Knox (133 pounds) and Cardenas (157 pounds) pick up their second career accolades. Consiglio (141 pounds), Parco (165 pounds), Wojcikiewicz (184 pounds), Posada (197 pounds) and Duthie (285 pounds) are all being recognized for the first time.
Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic Team contains 390 student-athletes from 73 different schools in 2025-26. To be eligible, wrestlers must meet one of the following criteria:
- All nominees are determined by the academic records returned and the results in TrackWrestling
- Top 8 and 3.00 GPA
- National Qualifier and 3.2 GPA
- Conference qualifier and 3.5 GPA
- 15 matches with 60 percent win record and 3.5 GPA
