STANFORD, Calif. – No. 16 Stanford shut out California for a second-straight day today, winning 5-0 to sweep the ACC series and move to 34-12 on the season. The 12th-straight win for the Card ends the team’s 2026 ACC schedule at 18-6, setting a new program record for conference wins in a season.
Stanford scored first for the third time this weekend, striking in the third inning. Taryn Kern led off the inning with a double, moving to third on an Emily Jones bunt single. Kyra Chan singled her home to make it a 1-0 Cardinal lead.
Chan came home as well, sliding under a tag at home plate to score on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jade Berry. The RBI for Berry was her 43rd of the season and 141st of her career. The total has her just two shy of the 10th-most in program history.
Starter Alyssa Houston exited the game in the bottom of the third, finishing with 2.2 scoreless innings pitched. The junior gave up three hits in the outing. Zoe Prystajko entered in relief, stepping into the circle with two outs and two runners on. The sophomore struck out the first batter she faced to get Stanford out of the inning unscathed.
The Card added another run in the fifth, with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly from Ava Gall making it a three-run lead.
Two more runs came home in the seventh, with Berry tripling to score Chan and make it 4-0. Berry scored from third on a Joie Economides single for the fifth run of the game.
Prystajko finished the game, ending with 4.1 scoreless innings. Prystajko struck out five and allowed just two hits to take the win. Stanford pitchers have now limited their opponent to less than three runs in six-straight games, holding the Bears to just two runs scored in three games.
The Cardinal ends the weekend outscoring California 31-2.
