ACC Champion Lands Golfer of the Month

Second monthly honor for the junior this season

STANFORD, Calif. — Paula Martín Sampedro lands the final ACC Women’s Golfer of the Month award, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. It is her second monthly award in 2026, after taking home the same honors in February.

The junior from Madrid, Spain, became the second Cardinal in as many years to win an individual ACC championship, doing so with a championship record-tying 202 (-14) during the 2026 ACC Championship. Her opening round 64 (-8) also tied a single-round ACC Championship scoring record.

It was the second win of the season for Martín Sampedro and her fourth as a Cardinal, tying her with the great Mariah Stackhouse for sixth all-time in program history. The other win she picked up this season, coming at the Bruin Wave Invitational, helped her land ACC Golfer of the Month honors in February.

Martín Sampedro and the rest of the Cardinal will prepare for the 2026 NCAA Stanford Regional on May 11-13, Stanford’s 40th-consecutive appearance in an NCAA Regional. The Cardinal has made every NCAA Championship field since 2010.
