STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford Softball (37-13) has been awarded the No. 20 overall seed for the upcoming NCAA Championship tournament, opening the postseason campaign with the Stillwater Regional.
The Stillwater Regional is a double-elimination format running from May 15-17 and will also include Princeton, Eastern Illinois and the hosts Oklahoma State. The Cardinal opens against Princeton on Friday at 11:00 a.m. PT.
The Cardinal qualifies for the NCAA Championship for the 23rd time in program history, including each of the last seven seasons.
Stanford has advanced to eight NCAA Super Regional appearances (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2022, 2023, 2024) and advanced to the NCAA Women's College World Series three times (2001, 2004, 2023, 2024).
The Cardinal enters the postseason on a high note, winning 15 of the final 16 games of the season to finish fourth in the ACC regular season and advance to the conference semifinal for the first time.
