CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Stanford football’s second kickoff time of the season has been announced. The Cardinal will play its conference home opener against last season’s College Football Playoff runner-up, Miami, on Sept. 4. The game will air on ESPN, with a kickoff time of 6 p.m. PT.
The matchup between Stanford and Miami will be the first time the Hurricanes take the field following their 27-21 loss in the National Championship to Indiana. It marks the second season in a row that Stanford will host the runner-up from the previous season at Stanford Stadium (2024, Notre Dame).
The Cardinal is 0-1 all-time against the Hurricanes, with its first and only meeting coming last year at Hard Rock Stadium. Then-No. 9 Miami captured a 42-7 win over Stanford despite being tied 7-7 at halftime.
