STANFORD, Calif. – Senior slugger Taryn Kern has been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American. The San Jose product earned second team honors, giving the Cardinal a fifth different NFCA All-America selection in the last four years.
Kern had a monstrous season at the plate in 2026. The senior led the team in both runs scored (69) and RBI (49). The 69 runs scored were the second-most in a season in program history, and gave her 176 in her career. Kern's .897 slugging percentage was the most in a single season in program history, and brought her career clip to .721, also a program record.
Driving the slugging percentage was a team-leading 18 home runs in 2026. The mark was just one shy of matching a program's single season record of 19, which Kern reached last season.
The accolade is one of several from the 2026 season for Kern. The senior was named to the NFCA All-West Region and All-ACC first teams earlier this month. In her three years on The Farm since transferring from Indiana, Kern now boasts three All-Region selections and three All-conference nods.
Kern is the 21st different Stanford player to earn All-America honors, and gives the Card 36 total selections. The nod makes for four-straight seasons with at least one All-American Cardinal.
