FRISCO, Texas — Three from the top-ranked Stanford women’s golf team were named to the watch list for the Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year, announced on Thursday afternoon.
12 of the best golfers in the country earned a spot on the watch list; Stanford is the only team with three on the list. Megha Ganne, Paula Martín Sampedro, and Andrea Revuelta were chosen by the WGCA, recognizing their outstanding performances through the 2025-26 season.
The trio of Cardinal on the list all have won an individual tournament this season. Martín Sampedro is the most recent Stanford winner, taking home medalist honors at the ACC Championship, her second win of the season.
Stanford has not won this award since 2023, the last year in a run of three consecutive WGCA Player of the Year awards for Cardinal golfers. Rachel Heck won the program’s first in 2021, with Rose Zhang winning it in 2022 and 2023.
The recipient of the Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year will be announced after the 2026 NCAA Championship.
