Richard Signed to 2026 Squad

Sophomore comes to Stanford following 20-game campaign at Liberty

STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford field hockey added one more to its roster for the 2026 campaign as the Susan Ewing York Director of Women’s Field Hockey Roz Ellis announced the signing of Caroline Richard to the squad.

“We are thrilled to welcome Caroline to our squad,” said Ellis. “She is a very dynamic and versatile player that feels comfortable on multiple lines. She will be here over the summer to absorb all that is Stanford and hit the ground running for preseason.”

Richard comes to The Farm after a one-year stint at Liberty University where she competed in 20 games for the Flames. Richard amassed one assist on the season for Liberty, earning a point in the 7-1 win over Appalachian State on October 5. Earning 327 minutes at backer, Richard helped the Flames to their 2025 Big East regular season and tournament championship titles before a short NCAA Tournament run. Richard appeared in a career-high 45 minutes in the win over Quinnipiac on September 19 and registered two shots on goal during her time at Liberty.

A native of Towson, Md., Richard was an All-County First Team honoree at Towson High School while also playing for Freedom HKY Club through her high school years. Richard helped lead Towson High School to county and regional titles before finishing as a state runner-up during her senior season, earning all-state honors in the process. With Freedom HKY Club, Richard helped lead the team to two regional championship titles and two U16 NIT Crowns. She also competed in three-straight Junior Nexus Championships while winning the Championship with team Milan in 2024.
