Multiplatinum Recording Artist E-40 to Perform at Halftime of Stanford Football's Game Against Miami

Bay Area hip-hop icon to celebrate the 20th anniversary of landmark album, My Ghetto Report Card, at Stanford Stadium on Sept. 4

STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford Athletics and Stanford Football announced today that multiplatinum recording artist E-40 will perform at halftime of Stanford's highly anticipated football game against Miami on Friday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. inside Stanford Stadium.

The special halftime performance will celebrate the 20th anniversary of E-40's landmark album My Ghetto Report Card, which featured some of the most influential songs of his storied career and helped propel Bay Area hip-hop, sound and culture to a broader national audience.

A Vallejo native and one of the most influential artists in hip-hop history, E-40's connection to Northern California runs deep. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has become synonymous with Bay Area royalty, earning acclaim as a multiplatinum recording artist, entrepreneur, actor and New York Times best-selling author. His impact extends far beyond music, with successful ventures in food, beverage and more, while remaining one of the region's most recognizable ambassadors.

With deep roots in Northern California and a legacy that extends across generations of Bay Area fans, E-40's halftime performance will help create a gameday experience that celebrates the culture, creativity and community that make the Bay Area unlike anywhere else. Stanford Stadium has also recently become a destination for world-class entertainment, building off the momentum from sold-out spring concerts featuring Coldplay and BTS over the last two years.

“Performing at halftime to help kick off Stanford’s football season and celebrate My Ghetto Report Card’s anniversary is going to be really special,” E-40 said. “I’m so thankful to my brother Andrew Luck for making this moment possible. We’re gonna shake the stadium up and turn it into a full-blown function that highlights Bay Area music, sports and entertainment in a powerful way.”

Stanford's matchup against Miami is one of the early marquee events of the college football season, pairing a nationally significant ACC matchup with a halftime celebration featuring one of the Bay Area's most beloved cultural icons.

“E-40 is a Bay Area icon whose impact extends far beyond music, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Stanford Stadium,” Stanford Football General Manager Andrew Luck said. “Bringing together Stanford football, one of the region’s most influential artists, and a celebration of an album that helped define a generation and my own Stanford experience is a unique opportunity to showcase the culture and energy of the Bay Area. We’re grateful to join forces with E-40 for a special night of football and culture at Stanford Stadium.”

Known for hit records including "Tell Me When To Go," "U and Dat," "Choices (Yup)," and "Function” among many others, E-40 has released dozens of charting projects and remains one of hip-hop's most respected and enduring artists. In addition to his musical accomplishments, he has built a nationally recognized entrepreneurial portfolio and has been featured by outlets including Variety, Bloomberg, CBS Mornings and Good Morning America for his business success and community impact.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pregame festivities and remain in their seats through halftime for the special performance.
