Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year

National champion Alyssa Jones garners another accolade on Friday morning

STANFORD, Calif. — Alyssa Jones, a semifinalist for The Bowerman, was named ACC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Friday morning.

The USTFCCCA West Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year won her first career national title in Eugene, Ore., two weeks ago, winning the long jump with a meet record 7.06m (23-2) mark at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Jones also added an eighth-place finish in the high jump to earn First Team All-America honors.

At the ACC Outdoor Championships, Jones headlined the weekend with ACC titles in both the long jump and high jump, collecting multiple event titles in a single conference championship for the first time since the 2025 indoor season. Named the Women's Field Most Valuable Performer following the meet, the Homestead, Fla., native also added bronze medals in the 100 meters and 4x400 relay.

After also being named the 2026 ACC Women’s Indoor Field Performer of the Year, Jones broke the ACC long jump record on multiple occasions throughout the spring. Her season-best mark and now-ACC record came in the NCAA West First Rounds with a 7.09-meter (23-3.25) jump. The mark is the second best in collegiate history, trailing only a mark posted more than five years earlier.
