CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The ACC announced its 2026 All-ACC Academic Women's Golf Team on Monday morning, with Stanford featured prominently. Four Cardinal student-athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Team, one shy of the most in the ACC. Additionally, Paula Martín Sampedro was named the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in women's golf
It was an incredible season for the junior from Spain, as she helped lead Stanford to an NCAA Championship for the second time in her three seasons on The Farm. She was the individual champion of the ACC, earning ACC Golfer of the Year honors, and became a three-time First Team All-American. She won twice during the season and earned the second of Stanford's three clinching points in its 3-0 win over USC for the national championship.
She holds a 3.68 grade point average as a Science, Technology, & Society major and will likely earn Academic All-America status in the near future when those awards are announced.
Martín Sampedro becomes the fourth Cardinal all-time to win a Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, and the first since Brooke Seay in 2023. She is also the first golfer in program history to win this award and a Conference Golfer of the Year award at any point in her career.
This year, the ACC removed graduate students from eligibility for the All-ACC Academic Team, meaning only undergraduates are eligible. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team include a 3.0-grade point average for the previous three quarters and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career, while being enrolled at the institution for at least one year and being classified as an undergraduate student. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s athletic contests.
