STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford track & field heads to Hayward Field this weekend, sending three student-athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 11-13.
Alyssa Jones, Mena Scatchard, and Juliette Whittaker will represent the Cardinal across four events, with women's competition scheduled for Thursday, June 11, and Saturday, June 13.
Jones enters the weekend on record watch in the long jump, as the current world leader is aiming to eclipse the collegiate record of 7.14 meters (23-5¼) set by Tara Davis-Woodhall of Texas in 2021. The Homestead, Fla., native set a personal best of 7.09 meters (23-3¼) at the NCAA West Regional, improving upon her NCAA-leading mark this season.
Jones will also compete in the triple jump on Saturday at 5:10 p.m. as she looks to earn First Team All-America honors in the event for the first time in her career. The program record holder in both events, Jones will look to improve upon her performance at last year's NCAA Championships, where she finished third in the long jump and 15th in the triple jump.
Scatchard makes her first NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance for Stanford in the 1,500 meters after placing sixth at the NCAA West First Round in a personal-best 4:09.17. The No. 2 all-time performer in Stanford history, this will be Scatchard's second overall NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance of her career, finishing ninth in the event while competing for Princeton a year ago.
Whittaker looks to add another national title in the 800 meters to close out her storied collegiate career. Entering the meet as the No. 15 seed, Whittaker won both the indoor and outdoor 800m titles in 2024 and was an Olympic finalist in the event with a program-record 1:57.76.
The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be broadcast live on ESPN2 throughout all four days of competition, with live results available on Flash Results.
