KLAIPEDA, Lithuania – Stanford junior Inés Sotelo MÃguez was named to the All-Star Five after leading Spain to bronze at the recently concluded FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket in Alytus and KlaipÄ—da, Lithuania.
The 6-foot-3 forward averaged 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while playing 23.4 minutes in seven games. She led Spain in both scoring and rebounding and was fourth in the entire tournament in field goal percentage, making 51.7 percent from the floor (31-of-60).
Sotelo MÃguez scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting in the third-place game against Belgium on Sunday, an 81-59 win for Spain. She started off the week with a pair of 12-rebound performances in group phase victories over Israel and Lithuania.
Sotelo MÃguez is one of three transfers on Stanford’s 2026-27 roster and one of seven newcomers overall. She started 20 games and averaged 6.8 points on 45.1 percent shooting, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 23.9 minutes for Michigan State last season. Sotelo MÃguez is the first Spanish player in program history.
