Stanford to Play Ohio State at Chase Center

Stanford will face the Buckeyes in the Invisalign® Bay Area Women’s Classic in San Francisco on Sunday, Dec. 20

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford will face Ohio State in the Invisalign® Bay Area Women’s Classic at Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday, December 20, the venue announced Thursday.

In the event for the third consecutive season, the Cardinal’s game against the Buckeyes is part of a doubleheader that also includes California and Nebraska. Last year, Stanford won its Invisalign® Bay Area Women’s Classic game against Oregon, 64-53.

Stanford is 2-4 all-time against the Buckeyes and played Ohio State in the first Invisalign® Bay Area Women’s Classic on December 20, 2024, an 84-59 Buckeye win.

The Cardinal won 71-52 in Maples Pavilion on Dec. 15, 2019, and in the Sweet 16 in Berkeley on March 28, 2009, 84-66. Ohio State came out on top in overtime at the Play4Kay Showcase in Las Vegas, 94-82, on Nov. 25, 2017, and won the two games in Columbus, 79-47 on Dec. 28, 1984, and 85-64 on Nov. 10, 2017.

The game is Stanford’s third announced as part of its 2026-27 slate. The Cardinal opens next season on November 2 against Arizona at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of the Hall of Fame Series and will head to Auburn for the SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, December 2. Stanford’s third season in the ACC will also feature conference home games against Boston College, California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Syracuse.

Stanford played in the first college basketball game at Chase Center. The Cardinal beat San Francisco at the facility on November 9, 2019, 97-71.
