DUISBURG, Germany -- Stanford current and future student-athletes finished the 2026 U23 World Rowing Championships July 26, bringing home four medals.
Highlighting the Cardinal's time in Germany were Tom Corbett, Elliott Donovan-Davies, Gabriel George and Sandro Scalfi as four members of Stanford's sixth-place IRA varsity eight boat that brought home medals.
Corbett and Donovan-Davies both won golds for Great Britain, Corbett in the Men’s Eight and Donovan-Davies in the Men’s Quadruple Sculls. George and Scalfi were silver medalists for the United States in the Men’s Eight.
A pair of incoming freshmen, Odysseas Tubidis and Tony Madigan, also represented their countries. Tubidis was in two boats for France and finished fourth in the Mixed Eight and eighth in the Men’s Four. Madigan came in 19th in the Men’s Double Sculls with the United States.
