Sotelo Míguez at FIBA U20 EuroBasket With Spain

Tournament begins Saturday in Alytus and KlaipÄ—da, Lithuania and features the best 16 teams in Europe

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford junior Inés Sotelo Míguez has been named to Spain’s roster for the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, which begins Saturday in Alytus and Klaipėda, Lithuania and features the best 16 teams in Europe.

Spain is in Group A with Israel (Saturday, July 4 at 5:30 a.m. PT), Lithuania (Sunday, July 5 at 8 a.m. PT) and Croatia (Tuesday, July 7 at 5:30 a.m. PT). All the action will be streaming live on FIBA’s YouTube channel.

The appointment is the fifth of Sotelo Míguez’s career. She averaged 10.0 points and 6.6 rebounds in seven games to win gold at the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket in Portugal in August 2025. Sotelo Míguez also helped Spain to podium finishes at the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup in Czechia in July 2025 (8.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.5 apg), FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket in Portugal in August 2024 (10.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.9 apg) and FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship in Turkey in July 2023 (9.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.9 apg).

Sotelo Míguez is one of three transfers on Stanford’s 2026-27 roster and one of seven newcomers overall. She started 20 games and averaged 6.8 points on 45.1 percent shooting, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 23.9 minutes for Michigan State last season. Sotelo Míguez is the first Spanish player in program history.
