STANFORD, Calif. - Kevin Richardson ’88 and Jason Fisk ’94 will comprise Stanford football’s radio broadcast team on KNBR/KTCT 1050 AM when the 2026 campaign gets underway on Aug. 29 against Hawai’i.
Richardson will handle play-by-play duties while Fisk will serve as the color analyst, with the tandem providing unique perspective as Cardinal football alumni who also gained experience behind the mic following their playing careers.
Richardson most recently served as the play-by-play voice for the San Jose State football team for the last three seasons, and also provided color commentary for 15 seasons during an 18-year affiliation with the Spartans. Richardson also served as the play-by-play voice for the Bay Area Panthers of the Indoor Football League.
Richardson played inside linebacker for the Cardinal from 1984-88, compiling 289 tackles while serving as the defensive signal caller over 25 career starts.
A native of Salinas, California, Richardson’s ties to The Farm are extensive, including his appointment as Buck/Cardinal Club chair from 2005-08, a stretch in which the department increased donations from $3 million to $8 million, in addition to being a member of the Stanford Stadium reseating committee. Richardson is also a member of the Stanford Founding Grant Society, along with his wife, Teresa Smith ’88, who was a two-time All-American on the women’s volleyball team and eventual Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame inductee.
Richardson’s oldest son, Jack, began his career as a walk-on quarterback with the Cardinal in 2016 before earning a scholarship two years later. His youngest son, Carl, also was a college quarterback.
Richardson is an independent financial advisor in Monterey County.
Fisk, who most recently served as the color analyst for the San Jose State football team during the 2024 campaign, competed for Stanford as a defensive lineman from 1991-94, leading the Cardinal in sacks (6) and tackles for loss (11) during his senior season. Fisk, who earned degrees in biology and psychology, was also named an All-Pac-10 Second-Team selection in 1994.
Fisk was selected in the seventh round of the 1995 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, and played for the organization from 1995-98. Fisk’s 12-year NFL career also included stints with the Tennessee Titans (1999-2001), San Diego Chargers (2002-04), Cleveland Browns (2005) and St. Louis Rams (2006). Fisk’s tenure in Tennessee included an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV, where he registered a sack of Rams’ quarterback Kurt Warner. In 182 career NFL games, Fisk produced 394 total tackles and 19 sacks.
A native of Davis, California, Fisk hosted his own radio show in Nashville while playing for the Titans.
Following his retirement from the NFL in 2006, Fisk served as an assistant coach with UC Davis, in addition to coaching stops at Davis High School and Vacaville High School.
Fisk’s son, Tucker, played tight end at Stanford from 2018-21 and has appeared in 25 career NFL games over three seasons for the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers.
Fisk is a teacher at Monterey County’s Chartwell School, mentoring children with dyslexia and other associated learning differences.
